Jeremiah was called to be a prophet at a young age and served the Lord for more than 40 years.
God had been calling His people back to Himself, but they had been resistant. God wanted His people to avoid the coming disaster and sent Jeremiah to plea with the people. Buried within Jeremiah’s plea is this call to walk in God’s ancient path.
Stand at the crossroads and look;
Jeremiah 6:16 NIV
ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is
and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls.
Look closely at the photo.
Can you see the person standing at the crossroad? Perhaps it’s you or me, standing and seeking the rest of God.
From her perspective, the home (or destination) is difficult to see; it’s surrounded by tall foliage. The home seems so far away.
But the road beckons me. What about you? Do you hear the call of the Lord? Can you take one step towards Him today?
As I take each step, I sense the presence of the Lord with me. Keep moving towards the Lord and you will sense His presence too.
The good way is towards home.
And home is where The Lord is and where rest truly exists.
The journey towards the Lord and His rest may be filled with potholes. They are just bumps and obstacles along the way. Keep your eyes fixed on your destination, your home with the Lord, and you will arrive.
The Lord is with you, enabling you to take each step into your destiny.
Rest is difficult to find. Pause. Ask the Lord. Walk in the good way, and you will find rest for your soul. Jer 6:16 Share on XAre you ready to take a step in the direction towards the Lord? Request the free guide, Reflections for Your Soul.
