Your Perspective Matters (Affects Your Life and View of World)

It’s been said ‘perspective is everything.’

Does your perspective affect how you live? You might say what difference does it make what my perspective is.

One definition of “perspective” according to Merriam-Webster is “the capacity to view things in their true relations or relative importance.” This means that perspective is related to how we value something in our life.

Consequently, perspective affects your life. Said differently–perspective matters.

Perspective also affects how we see the world itself.

Your Perspective Matters

What do you see?

Pictured below are actually two women: an old lady and young debutante.  You need a different viewpoint or perspective in order to see each one. When you find one woman, then you need to alter your perspective to see the other.

Perspective of Life

Often we refer to people as those who have a sunny disposition and those who are “negative nellies.” Is the glass half empty or half full?

Perspective matters.

How we see the world around us also is dependent on our viewpoint and whether we see this revolving rock we call home as God’s continued handiwork or something more sinister.

How much beauty is missed in our days when we see the darkness of the world rather than the steadfast love of the Lord.

When our perspective is only on evil and the bad news, it affects what we believe and how we perceive the Lord, one another and our lives in the here and now.

Altering Perspective

If we truly approached each day with the intentional thought framework that the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord, would our attitude be different?

Would the daily battering of bad news and atrocities near and wide have the effect on us that they currently do?  Or would we perhaps be sheltered and cocooned in our hearts and minds.

As this reminder of the steadfast love of the Lord affects our hearts and minds, might we be able to walk in this dark world with a lighter step and a more hopeful perspective.

Renewed Perspective

It’s all about how we see things – either ourselves, other people, the world – or the Lord.

Let’s walk through our days believing the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.

Watch how this surrendered view changes your perspective.

Place your view of life on the Lord’s altar and allow Him to refine your way of thinking and enable you to see life from His perspective.

Wake up each morning with the thought that no matter what you face today, no matter what bad news you hear…

the earth is still full of the

  • steadfast
  • never-ending
  • firm
  • devoted
  • faithful love of the Lord

Allow that truth to be the foundation upon which you pursue the day and see how it alters your view of life.

Altar your view of life – Surrender to the steadfast love of the Lord.
